February is Dental Month
The month of February brings us to dental cleanings and evaluations. Periodontal disease is one of the most common clinical issues we see in our practice. A lot of people don’t realize just how important their pets oral health is. Often times there is much more to it than just bad breath. February we focus on discount dental cleanings where, under sedation, we evaluate the oral anatomy, scale/polish teeth, and do any extractions that are needed. We often uncover inflammation, infection or even a bad tooth that has been bothering them. These oral issues are typically gradual so owners don’t really see changes in their pets attitudes or eating habits, though some do.
Throughout the year, during all pets annual physical exams, we note to owners any suspected issues of oral disease. February is a great month to act on these issues if we haven’t already done that for your dogs and cats. If it goes untreated, studies have shown that oral inflammation and infection could possibly lead to more systemic issues in major organs. Any questions or if you just want us to evaluate your pet, please reach out to us and set up an appointment. We would love to help you and your pet!
